Clifton clinch it
A mere half-point was the decider in favour of Clifton over Print On Demand Worldwide in a thrilling polo encounter at Apes Hill, St. James yesterday.
It was almost a Cinderella comeback story for Print on Demand as their opponents started with a goal and a half advantage and built an almost unassailable seven and a half to four-goal lead by the fourth chukka. However, a gallant fight-back largely led my Mike Henderson, coupled with some apparent complacency from the opposing team, saw Print On Demand Worldwide registering three unanswered run of play goals.
Henderson finished the match with an impressive five goals to his name, which were the most individual goals of the encounter, albeit in a losing effort. Christian Chavez was the chief destroyer for Clifton as he scored four of his team’s seven and a half goals.
It must be said that despite the fact that the match was keenly contested, the spirit of fair play was very evident in both teams on the day.†††
