Helping the elderly…

Christ Church West Central MP Stephen Lashley is committed to continuing the work he started five years ago.

He told Barbados TODAY that not only is he looking after the youth in the community through the homework programme which was started last year, but he is ensuring that the elderly residents are giving the opportunity to come together.

That chance came in the form of a Seniors’ Day Out held recently at the Briar Hall Playing Field which Lashley described as an initiative to get them more active, engaged in mind games and allowed them a day with others in their age group.

The Minister of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth, who attended the event and interacted with the seniors, also noted that seniors tended to stay at home during the day.

Last Saturday, Lashley continued his house-to-house canvass and he said he would be out in the constituency again tomorrow morning. (DS)
