Drugs seized in Christ Church

The Police Drug Squad has made its first major seizure for the year.

The detectives discovered 208 cannabis plants growing in a bushy area of Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church on Tuesday afternoon.

The plants ranged in height from five inches to five feet. Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector David Welch said that last year, they uprooted over 20,000 plants, an increase of 3,000 when compared to 2011.†Welch said no one had been arrested in connection with this latest discovery. (EJ)
