Rain halts play in trial

Shamarh Brooks’ XI were 216 for four in reply to a first innings total of 249 all out by Kirk Edwards’ XI at the close after rain forced an early end of play in the post-tea session on the second day of the three-day Barbados trial match at Queen’s Park today.

The rain first stopped play at 1.47 p.m. before it was officially called off at 3.42 p.m.

The not out batsmen were Raymon Reifer on 48 off 60 balls with seven fours and one six and Kenroy Williams, 12.

Left-hander Anthony Alleyne scored 51 after resuming on 32, his overnight partner Brooks made 35 after starting the day on 16 with the score 58 for one and Kevin Stoute fell for 44.

Alleyne faced 82 balls and struck eight fours and one six while Stoute received 51 balls and counted seven fours.
