The West India Biscuit Co. Ltd, has come to the aid of budding local cyclist, 18-year-old Jesse Kelly as he prepares for a six-month training stint with a top South African Pro Continental cycling team.

Coached by former cycling champion Barry Forde, Kelly is a fast-rising star on the local cycling circuit. After just one year of competitive cycling, he has already had various podium finishes, both locally and when he has represented Barbados overseas.

Kelly was spotted by the South African team which invited him to train with them to help him develop as an elite cyclist and also help Barbados qualify for the Brazil 2016 Olympics.

The South African team has seen several of their team riders garnering success, including Nolan Hoffman at the recent world championships.

Kelly said that he is excited at the opportunity that the training affords him and, although it will be tough, he will be looking forward to training with top cyclists.
