DLP gives fridge to school
Some say a new year brings new things and this is true for the staff and students of the Gordon Walters Primary School, located in St. Patricks, Christ Church.
On Tuesday, the second day of the Hilary term the St. Philip West Branch of the Democratic Labour Party donated a 13 cubic foot, Samsung refrigerator to Principal Tyrone Marshall.
Marshall, who took up the post last September was happy to receive the appliance which he said makes life easier for the entire school.
“This helps in making our time here more comfortable. We are very grateful to the branch, they are friends of the school and they have never broken any of their promises to us. We look forward to their continued support.”
Branch Chairman, Tamisa Green, said the organisation tries to meet the needs of all the schools in the constituency.
“This is part of our commitment to all the residents in the districts making up St. Philip West,” she said. “We are constantly working towards improvement.”
Marshall said there was a smooth start to the second term, with teachers on task and children quickly settling in to classes. (DS)
