Cleaner in St. James South

Crews from the Sanitation Service Authority making sure the garbage was secure on the trucks.

Residents of St. James South have been ridding themselves of a few tonnes of garbage from their homes and immediate surroundings.

During a clean-up campaign which started on Monday and ends tomorrow, pieces of old wood, tree trimmings, old sewing machine stands, plastic bottles, metal and other discarded material were carted away by staff of the Sanitation Service Authority and a recycling company.

Environmental Health Officers from the Branford Taitt Polyclinic were on hand to supervise and assist the householders.

The campaign was an effort to keep the constituency clean. (DS)
