Tribute to Bhana

Yacub Bhana passed away recently. He was a central part of the business community in Speightstown having operated his business in that area for 34 years.

To acknowledge his contribution, commemorate his life and pass on the baton of the community spirit mindedness he possessed to his successors, the New Barbados Kingdom Alliance organised a tribute day recently at the store Bhanas.

It was attended by members of the Muslim community and shoppers who frequent the establishment. A plaque was given to his son, and Apostle Lynroy Scantlebury while attendees spoke of Bhana’s generosity, business acumen and noble character.

Mr. Bhana was truly a noble character. A tribute to Mr. Bhana by the wider Barbadian community is a true testimony of how the two communities; Barbadian and East Indian, have been living harmoniously on this beautiful island. It is also a true testimony of true Barbadian characters. Peace be with you.
