15 hurt in crash

Fifteen people were injured tonight when a Transport Board bus and a tow truck became involved in an accident on the narrow portion of Reeves Hill, in St. James.

Medical officials at the scene told Barbados TODAY that 14 of those were travelling in the bus going out of the City. The truck was driving behind the bus when the incident occurred.

Up to the time of writing only one person had been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital – a female passenger of the bus. She complained of lower back pains.

All the others were being treated at the scene by a team of four doctors and paramedics under the supervision of Medical Director of the Emergency Ambulance Service, Dr. David Byer.

Neither of the two drivers was injured, but a man who was sitting in a car which was being transported by the tow truck, was hurt. He was treated on the spot. Five ambulances responded to the mass casualty. (EJ)†
