While Barbadians avoided any road death as they ushered in the New Year, police still had to deal with a number of accidents that involved injuries.

One of the more serious ones, happened yesterday morning at Four Square Road involving a Transport Board bus and a car. The driver of the bus, Everton Jordan, 47, complained of pain to his right shoulder and right arm, while the lone passenger, 16 year old Christopher Layne of Mangrove Park, St. Philip was also slightly hurt.

The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Orian Seale of Cassaurina Estate, St. Philip, reported pains about his body.

Another accident occurred on Warrens Main Road yesterday resulted in injuries to four people, including a 72-year-old man.

Police also reported a boat fire. They said the vessel, Pond Fly, caught ablaze while berthed at the Shallow Draught of the Bridgetown Port. (EJ)
