Policewoman in court on drunk driving charge

PORT OF SPAIN — A policewoman is expected to appear before a magistrate in the Chaguanas court today charged with drunk driving. The officer, from Chaguanas, was arrested on Saturday morning after she was involved in a road traffic accident on the Southern Main Road, Cunupia. Police said around 12.30 am officers responded to the report of a road traffic accident involving the officer.

The investigating officers administered the breathalyser to the female police officer and found that her alcohol intake was above the legal limit. She was arrested and taken to the Chaguanas Police Station where she was charged. The police officer is assigned to Caroni Police Station. (Guardian)
