I-Octane has high hopes for 2013

Rising reggae star I-Octane enjoyed a trail blazing 2012.

With the release of his critically acclaimed first album Crying to the Nation on the legendary VP Records label, and the success of his number one singles, Love Di Vibes and L.O.V.E.Y.O.U, I-Octane is looking forward to going to the next plateau in 2013.

His team is focused on building his personal brand and developing the Conquer the Globe label.

I-Octane said: “For a long time it was just about getting my songs to the public. As I’ve matured in the business I’ve realised the importance of establishing my brand and letting people see the complete package. That also allows for more longevity in the business.”

Having released a string of successful videos this past year, including the latest chart topper Bad Mind Ah Pree featuring dancehall legend Bounty Killer, Octane plans to give his fans a more insightful look into his life in an upcoming video series documenting his journey.

The fans, who continue to show great support, will get to see another side of him as I-Octane decided “to take matters into my own hands and allow my fans to see behind the music. There is more to me than what they see on stage.”

I-Octane, showing just how much more there is, got his wish to collaborate with a female artiste right in time for the season of love and giving. He joined forces with the Queen of Reggae music, Queen Ifrica, releasing an ode to unconditional love with the lovers’ rock tune Rasta Love.

“When I got the opportunity to work with Queen Ifrica, who is someone I respect, I jumped at it. You know my ting nuh normal areddy so since I know that Queen Ifrica is one of the best out there, I knew that the song would be a hit.”

The song, produced by Mister G Music, came about because of the admiration the two artists have for each other.

Octane concludes: “Right now my team and I are looking forward to 2013. I have matured as an artist and I know a lot more about the business. I’m ready to raise the bar and continue to do good music. 2013 a guh sssiiiiiccccckk!”

I-Octane is currently preparing his return to the US for a promotional trip in January 2013.
