Four into cricket semi-finals

Combermere, The Lodge School, Alexandra and Ellerslie are into the semi-finals of the Barbados Cricket Association’s Republic Bank’s Right Start Everton Weekes Under-13 Limited Overs Competition.

Playing today at Society, St. John Graydon Sealy batted first and made 109 in 35 overs with Jaden Jones top-scoring with an unbeaten 57.

In response, The Lodge School hurried to 110 for five in 25.3 overs to win by 5 wickets.At Stephen’s Hill, Ellerslie had an easy victory over Coleridge & Parry.

Batting first, Coleridge & Parry were bundled out for 65 with Shemar Persaud prising out four wickets for 11 runs in seven miserly overs.

In response, Ellerslie made 66 for 2 to win by eight wickets with Persaud showing his all-round ability top-scoring with an unbeaten 24.

At Waterford, Combermere batted first against Queen’s College and were dismissed for 119 in 34.4 overs. David Scott top-scored with 27 while Kofie Gilkes made 19 and Zidane Clarke made 11. Dashon Mayers captured 2 for 14 and Ajani Ince 3 for 13.

At their turn to bat, Queen’s College were restricted to 108 for 9 in their allotted 35 overs.

Daniel Pile top-scored with 24 while Kayode Miller made 23 and Ajani Waterman scored 11. Tyrese Brathwaite captured 3 for 17 and Scott, who had a good all-round game, snared 2 for 8.

At Blackman’s, St Joseph, Alexandra batted first and made 96 for 3 in 18.4 overs. Grantley Adams were then shot out for 25 with Rikeem Headley and Joshua Bishop taking four and three wickets respectively as the St. Peter school won by 71 runs.

Combermere take on The Lodge School and Ellerslie will battle against Alexandra in the semi-finals on a date to be decided.
