2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup fresh lime juice
3 cups dark rum
2 cups crushed ice
2 cups cold water
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Put sugar in a small saucepan, add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Lower heat and simmer for three to five minutes until sugar is completely dissolved.
Remove from heat and cool. Pour resulting syrup into a large container. Add lime juice, dark rum and ice and mix well.
Add Angostura bitters and nutmeg and mix once more.
