Battle on for crown

24 to compete in over 21 contest sunday night

It seemed like just yesterday when Jamie Depezia was crowned as the 2011 winner of the Richard Stoute Over 21 Contest.

On Sunday night 24 hopefuls will be vying to dethrone her and feel the glory she felt when her name was announced as winner.

They will, however, have first to do battle at the semi-finals, when it comes off this weekend at the Plantation Garden Theatre in St. Lawrence, Christ Church, before they can have an opportunity to be one of the lucky ones competing in the November 25 final.

The confident contenders are:

Matthew Williams — Purple Rain and I Who Have Nothing

Princess Best — My Immortal and Make You Feel My Love

Elroy Brathwaite — Cases and Tribute To Sir Richard Stoute

Charmaine Bradshaw — I Surrender and I Have Nothing

Tricia Maynard — Medley and Ready For Love

Christine Carter — Upon This Rock and My Tribute
