Christine Wiggins, the winner of the 2012 Banks Calendar Girl competition will give way to a new representative for the 2013 calendar.

A bevy of Barbadian beauties currently vying for the prestigious title of 2013 Banks Calendar Girl and a year-long contract worth $10,000, will know very soon if they will get to grace the stage at the Oistins Bay Gardens as one of the 16 best entrants chosen for what is expected to be a enthralling semi-final heat on Thursday November 22, at 7 p.m.

The action is taking place online at where entrants, who must be over18 years of age, were asked to submit their best photographs for appraisal by an experienced panel of preliminary judges.

The public is invited to come out to the Oistins Bay Gardens to support their favourite contestants as the favoured 16 take to the stage to show off abilities not limited to their physical qualities, but also their intelligence, poise and public speaking skills. Eight of these semi-finalists will be chosen by the judging panel to take part in the grand finals scheduled for December 6, 2012 at the same location.

Bernard Frost, Group Marketing Manager of Banks Holdings Ltd., said the Banks Calendar Girl contest had stood the test of time and the title of Banks Calendar Girl remains one of the most sought after titles by pageant contestants. He noted Banks would continue to celebrate the excellence of its flagship brand by associating with the positive qualities of beauty, charm and intelligence to be found in the young women of Barbados.

“The Banks Calendar is the most popular promotional piece we create every year and as you know it can be seen in just about every shop across Barbados.
