This announcement came from Farmer’s Choice officials who declared November 1, to January 1 Barbados’ newest season at a cocktail launch held at the Barbados Concorde Experience yesterday.

Explaining the novel idea, Hanschell Inniss Brand Manager, Richard Smith noted: “It’s no secret that Barbadians love ham. Here at Farmer’s Choice we take ham very seriously, and because we know just how much Barbadians love our ham, we’ve decided to introduce an entire season dedicated to the consumption of ham. So now you don’t have to feel guilty about eating ham in November, you’re free to eat ham when you feel like!”

One of the major scheduled activities for the season will include the Great Farmer’s Choice Road Show. This will feature live broadcasts from a variety of supermarkets island-wide, as well as product sampling.

Barbadians can also look forward to a chance to win an Apple iPad 3 in the Ham It Up competition scheduled to begin in the middle of November.

Sales and Marketing Manager at HIPAC Ltd., Mischa Knight, had advice for ham lovers noting: “We have some really exciting things lined up for Ham Season 2012. Keep your eyes and ears open for more details about the competition, and ‘like’ the Farmer’s Choice Facebook page to participate in the ‘Ham It Up’ competition for your chance to win an iPad 3!”

The Farmer’s Choice team is hoping that this will be a season to remember for ham lovers of all ages, who can look forward to a holiday season filled with ham prepared any way their hearts desire.
