St. James shut out

St. James Secondary today suffered the ignominy of being held scoreless in the entire second half as they were beaten 50-4 by a rampant Lester Vaughan Secondary at Cane Garden, St. Thomas as action continued in the United Insurance-sponsored National Sports Council’s Senior Schools Basketball Tournament.

St. James Secondary have had a difficult time of it this year but it could not have got any worse. Attempt after attempt to score came to naught as Lester Vaughan added 24 second-half points to what they had scored against them in the first half. It was a combination of Lester Vaughan’s defence and St. James’ poor execution that led to the visitors’ embarrassment.

Raheem Thompson led the hosts’ offence with a game-high 15 points.
