Running for Scouting

On the international scene, England sought to raise funds for Scouting by taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 7, 2012. Participants who were clad in bright green i.Scout running vests and under blazing autumnal sun, which included ex-Chief Scout Peter Duncan, tackled the beautiful 13.1 mile course through four of London’s parks.

Some of the runners commented on the enjoyable experience and beautiful weather which was present and allowed them to see the many London landmarks in the hours it took to complete the course. Some of the Scout athletes who were part of the race remarked that they thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere all the while listening to the Scouts on the side line cheering them along.
