Robbery suspect shot dead

Police officers converse on West Atlantic Drive, after an armed robbery suspect was shot and killed.

NASSAU — A suspect was shot and killed after an armed robbery in Grand Bahama yesterday, according to police.

Police reported that two masked men robbed a store at Circle Mall on West Atlantic Drive around 11 a.m.

Police were called to the scene and saw the two masked men attempting to flee the area.

One of the men ran to the rear of the store while the second man entered a waiting car another man was driving. Shots were fired at the officers, police said. The officers returned fire and shortly after the car crashed and the driver escaped.

Police also arrested a man they suspect was involved in the incident.

When police checked the car they said they discovered that one of the robbers had been shot. He died at the scene. (Nassau Guardian)
