CONCACAF head in good condition

LONDON – CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb is reported to be in good condition in a London hospital after falling ill on a flight to the United Kingdom on Monday.

The 48-year-old Webb was forced to cancel a speech he was due to make at the Leaders in Football Conference at Stamford Bridge. However, conference host David Davies said Webb could not attend the event due to the illness.

“Doctors thoroughly evaluated president Webb regarding his shortness of breath,” conference organisers said in a statement. “Standard procedures to establish his overall state of health were performed and precautionary measures followed. After two days of observation and tests, specialists concluded President Webb is in good condition.”

Webb, from the Cayman Islands, succeeded Jack Warner in May as president of football’s governing body for North and Central America and the Caribbean.

Warner quit in 2011 in the middle of a corruption investigation.
