On Saturday, October 6, the headquarters of the Barbados Boy Scouts Association was a hive of activity.

From as early as 8 a.m. boys, parents and leaders converged on this location for a day filled with activity. As the usual activities of Cub Scout and Beaver Scout sessions were in full swing during the morning periods, they were joined by a group of 18 potential leaders and Scouts, all awaiting the start of their separate sessions.

The 18 adults in Scouting took their first steps on the path which could ultimately see them being recognised as Woodbadge recipients. These individuals, all volunteers, took the decision to be trained as Leaders in the Barbados Boy Scouts Association.

This first part of the training programme presented them with an overview of Scouting nationally and internationally.
