New Secretary General named

Just in time for this publication, the World Scout Committee announced that the new Secretary General for the World Organisation of the Scout Movement is Scott Teare from the United States of America. Until quite recently and before his retirement the Secretary General was Luc Pannisod who worked tireless to further establish the Boy Scouts Movement. We wish Luc a happy retirement.

The new Secretary General really is no stranger to World Scouting. He is currently the Director of the International Division of Boy Scouts of America and has been a tireless advocate for World Scouting. He has been one of the point persons in the national organisation of the Boy Scouts of America and has done so with distinction. Quite recently Scott was awarded the Bronze Wolf for his contribution to World Scouting. When one recognized the serious constraints of financing Scouting programmes in the various Regions and national associations, Scott was very instrumental in providing sustained financial support which eventually led to membership growth within many associations in the Interamerican Region.

The new Secretary General will take office on January 1, 2013 at the World Scout Bureau Central Office.Scott Teare, the new Secretary General of WOSM.
