United Insurance’s history of excellence in Barbados and beyond will continue to be represented in the quality of service offered from its latest location at Holetown.
This was made clear by Chief Executive Officer Howard Hall at the official opening of the new West Coast branch last week.
“United, albeit in different forms, has been serving and protecting the interests of the Barbadian policyholder since 1830,” Hall said. “Through this time the organization has maintained a reputation for excellent customer service and relationships and prompt claims service. This has enabled it to become a leading insurer throughout the Caribbean.
“If you think about it, insurance companies like ourselves exist for the sole purpose of keeping a promise to our customers, that is, to pay valid claims when they arise and restore our customers to the position they were in before the event.
“In the case of United, Our excellent A- rating from the foremost international rating agency, AM Best, which has recently been affirmed for the eighth consecutive year, assures our policy holders that we have the financial strength and stability to keep that promise.
“However, until a claim arises, it is our duty to make the insurance transaction such as , establishing a new policy, renewals, amending a policy as easy and painless as possible. Let’s face it, insurance is viewed by many as a necessary evil…
“One of our goals at United is therefore to continually find innovative ways to serve our customers better and we are here this evening to share with you a recent innovation developed by the people at United to get closer to our clients.
“As you know, United operates from our head office which is located in Bridgetown. The challenge is, how do we get closer to our clients and improve customer convenience, without diluting the same high quality of service and attention that they have grown accustomed to and which is best provided by the infrastructure at our head office.
“This new location addresses this challenge and is the epitome of innovation in action. It uses video conferencing technology to allow clients to meet remotely with United’s underwriters and claims officers who are based at our Lower Broad Street office. This is a first for the insurance industry in Barbados one of many customer centric innovations that we will be rolling out.
“Indeed, feedback from our clients so far has been both exciting and encouraging.”
