The Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry is encouraging its members and the entire business community in Barbados to help commemorate the second anniversary of the Campus Trendz Tragedy by observing a minute’s silence on Monday, September 3, 2012.

President of the Chamber, Lalu Vaswani said the chamber had no hesitation in lending its support to the effort, which is being spearheaded by the September 3rd Foundation, as a means of promoting the values of peace, love, non-violence and forgiveness.

The September 3rd Foundation was established to memorialise Pearl Cornelius, Kelly Ann Welch, Kellishaw Olliverre, Nikkita Belgrave, Tiffany Harding and Shanna Griffith, the six young victims of the tragedy. The foundation has indicated that the day will also be used to honour all other innocent victims of violent crime.

To this end, at noon on Monday, September 3, members of the local business community will be observing a minute’s silence or prayer as a show of support.
