Yearwood passes on

Barrington Yearwood Sr, the manager of the CGI Maple team which compete in the Barbados Cricket Association LIME Elite division as well as the Sagicor General Super Cup and Twenty20 tournaments, died this morning at home following a lengthy illness.

The 52-year-old Yearwood was also a former Maple Intermediate and First division player. Yearwood’s son, Barrington Jr, confirmed his passing.

Yearwood Sr was manager of the Maple team that won the inaugural Sagicor General T20 championship in 2008 — fittingly in the 50th anniversary of the Trents-based, St. James club.
