Oistins boats damaged

Senior Reporter Donna Sealy (left) speaking with fisherman Steven Bourne (second left) about the damage to his other boat.

Some boat owners in Oistins were keeping one eye on the weather and the other on their vessels today.

With three boats damaged from the rough seas in the wee hours of today, they were hoping that others were not damaged.

Steven Bourne, a fisherman whose boat was damaged told Barbados TODAY that some of the boat owners took them down to the Bridgetown Fisheries Complex to safe harbour.

While the waves kept the fisher folk at bay, further up the coast at Miami Beach, some people ventured into the choppy waters totally ignoring the red flags posted by lifeguards warning against swimming. (DS)
