Jambalasse band launches

On Thursday July 5 band members, sponsors, family and friends of Jambalasse Entertainment gathered at the Cockspur Beach Club on Brighton beach for the much anticipated launch of their 2012 Jambalasse Insomniacs Foreday Mornin’ band.

Jambalasse Entertainment was established in 2001 and the organisers describe it as having emerged from a desire to enjoy and share the wonderful experience of “jumping-up” through the streets of Bridgetown for Foreday Mornin’ with a few good friends in a safe and organised fashion. Now in 2012 Jambalasse Entertainment can boast of having produced 11 successful bands and their popularity and success has been evidenced over the last several years with the annual return of their faithful members and the hosting of various local and international film crews, including from BET Jazz. Being chosen by BET Jazz was certainly a major achievement for them and one of the high points in their history. This year, through the Barbados Tourism Authority office in Canada, they will again be hosting international visitors — this time it’s lucky Canadians who have won a trip to Barbados for the Crop-Over Festival.

Team Jambalasse has attributed their success to three critical factors: very careful planning; developing long lasting, mutually beneficial and meaningful relationships with their sponsors, most of whom have been with them from the very beginning and also listening to their members’ needs. They perceive the third factor as being perhaps the major contributor to their success and this is reflected in the number of their faithful “Insomniacs”, who come out to party with them year after year and spend that sleepless night chipping through the streets until sunrise.

Jambalasse Entertainment is big on giving back and partners every year with a local charity. This year they have partnered with the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados to raise the awareness of cardiovascular diseases and the critical role the foundation plays in saving lives in Barbados. To this end they have incorporated the foundation’s logo into their own and printed it on every T-shirt which will be worn Foreday Mornin’ by band members.
